Kara Milovy played by Maryam d' Abo is the main Bond Girl of The Living Daylights. Kara first appears when Bond meets Saunders, head of section V, Vienna.
Bond has been informed that General Georgi Koskov is willing to defect from the Russians. As Koskov runs across the road to meet Bond and Saunders Bond spots a sniper, Kara. Defying his orders to kill her, Bond shoots the rifle out of her hands only marginally injuring her.
Bond helps Kara escape from the KGB in Bratislava and they head to Austria. After dealing with Saunders death and meeting with Koskov in Tangier, Bond heads back to meet Kara. She is lead to believe that Bond is a KGB agent after talking to Koskov. Kara switches back to being Bond's ally after drugging his drink and realising what a fool she has been.
After escaping the Russian air force base in Afghanistan, Bond and Kara head off with Kamran Shah. After returning to the air force base with the help of Kamran's men Bond and Kara leave in the Hercules. For her help in the mission Kara is granted asylum in the west where her talents bloom.

Kara Milovy is a Czech cellist who is girlfriend to General Georgi Koskov. Koskov sets up Kara to shoot blanks at him to make his defection look real, knowing that Bond will kill her. While sometimes slightly gullible and easily lead, Kara is a courageous and brave ally to Bond. She gets involved in the action at the Russian air force base in a role that is excellently played by Maryam d' Abo throughout the film.
